Liz McLaughlin, Trainer & Owner
Originally from San Diego, my family fostered both dogs and cats for several years. That really sparked my love for animals and interest in canine behavior. I worked in doggie daycares and as a veterinary assistant, where I got hands on experience with dogs of all temperaments.
Now as a Sacramento local (Go Kings!), I’ve been training dogs for over six years and have dedicated my career to helping dogs and their owners build strong, trusting relationships.

Tea
Tea was introduced to us through Canine Companions for Independence, a nonprofit that provides service dogs to people with disabilities free of charge. Through the puppy raising program, we provided Tea with age-appropriate socialization opportunities, basic training, public outings, and necessary veterinary care.
Though Tea ultimately did not become a service dog, she has become an essential part of the McLaughlin family. She continues to use her training skills, often assisting in lessons. The experience of being a volunteer puppy raiser aligned with the beginning of my training career, reinforcing just how powerful training can be and the impact a well-trained dog can have on someone’s life.

Abby
Also originally from San Diego, Abby was found roaming the streets as a stray before being adopted by the McLaughlin family. Shortly after, she moved with them to Northern California.
Like most pit bulls, Abby has always been a complete love bug. Though like most rescues, Abby also needed time to settle into her new home. As she adjusted, she began to show behaviors such as car anxiety and leash reactivity. This led her owners into a deep dedication of understanding canine behavior and learning to see the world from a dog’s perspective.
